Transgender | Gender Dysphoria Therapy

Become Your True, Authentic Self

If you feel your gender identity is different to the biological sex given to you at birth you may experience anxiety, discomfort and distress.

This might be because of a medical condition known as gender dysphoria, for which treatment is sometimes appropriate. It is important to talk to your doctor if you are experiencing any of these uncomfortable feelings.

At BWRT London, Claire provides a confidential service with a range of therapy options, including help with anxiety, depression and dysphoria, to complement treatments recommended by your doctor.

Help and Support

Gender dysphoria can make you feel isolated.

If you are feeling confused about your gender identity, or have a strong desire to live according to your gender identity rather than your biological sex, you may feel like you’re the only person who feels this way.

You are not alone. There are many organisations, such as Stonewall, which offer help and support for the LGBT community, and can help you find a local group.

BWRT London is proud to support Transpire, which offers peer support and social events to transgender persons, their friends and family, in Essex

Become Your True, Authentic Self

BWRT can help resolve all kinds of anxiety and psychological discomfort, sometimes in a single session.

If you have decided to transition, BWRT can help to align your inner self with the person you present to the world.

If you have transitioned, you may be finding it hard to shake off old ways of thinking that trigger unwanted responses.

If your sense of self still feels out of balance, Claire at BWRT London will help you to reach congruence, on your journey to becoming your true, authentic self.

‘BWRT®’ stands for ‘BrainWorking Recursive Therapy®’, a model of psychology and psychotherapy created by UK professional therapist, Terence Watts, MCGI. Like many other modern therapies, it allows a ‘core of privacy’ so that you do not have to divulge anything you would rather not talk about – in fact, the practitioner only needs to know how you feel and how you would prefer to feel instead. BWRT® is a completely new and different therapy based on the latest discoveries about the way the brain works and how it affects our moods, behaviour and emotions. Only Certified Practitioners have been trained to deliver BWRT® and all have to adhere to a strict ethical code. Find out more at http://www.bwrt.org
